Mission

My mission is to help more young women and underrepresented youth, especially young women of color, experience opportunities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

I am accomplishing my mission by sharing & hosting STEM related-events, connecting them with other women in STEM & STEM-adjacent fields, and sharing STEM & STEAM resources.

An open letter to the aspiring leaders and leaders aspiring.

Dear Future Leader,

You are enough. You are a visionary and are the only one who can see the world from your lens making your thoughts, solutions for our future, and voice imperative. Your journey has just begun!

While you may not have all of the tools you will need, remember, being a good leader is a lifelong journey. This means continuous self-reflection, continuous pushing of boundaries, and continuing to have an open mind when it comes to learning and feedback. Be sure to define what success looks like for you, because it looks different for everyone.

Here are 3 mottos I would like you to take with you as you are learning and growing into the person you are meant to be:

Life is a journey, so enjoy the ride
You do not have to have it all figured out today. If anything, we have learned that the world is forever changing, so remain adaptable.
Let them tell you “No.”
The answer is always no if you do not ask… so why not ask? What do you have to lose by simply asking the question?
You learn much more from a failure than you do a success.
Reframe how you think of the word failure. Think of it as a learning opportunity and a great way to practice coming up with creative solutions when things are not going exactly how you planned.

I am so proud of you. It’s our choice and you are choosing to change the world in a positive way... and you will succeed.
